Not long ago I felt it was time I started self-hosting services I use for a variety of reasons. I started on Fly.io and launched a Ghost and I felt good about it. That lasted about a month at which point I realized that it was overkill and costing me money that was better spent on other things. That's when I stumbled across this post by Mat Ess. Not only was the content excellent but the site was, to my eye, beautiful. I poked around and read more and eventually found the site's code. So, I've followed Mat's example and adapted his work for my site. Let me be clear, this saved me a lot of time and effort. I'll learn more as I go, but using his work I was able to start quickly. Thanks Mat.

Like Mat, I have other things running on Fly.io such as GoatCounter analytics instance, as well as a Forgejo instance with Drone. What Mat did to with Nix flakes and Drone CI is well thought out and works like a charm.

Nice job. Thank you. I appreciate that you were kind enough to publish your work under a license that allowed me to benefit from your technical expertice and design sense.
